Volcano Batur is one of the most sacred mountains in Bali, also could be considered one of the wonders of world. It must be seen to be believed, and a trip to the summit of the volcano is a climb worth, with majestic views over Lake Batur and onto Lombok's highest mountain (Mt. Rinjani ). Volcano Batur erupted several times within this century, most recently in 1994 and 1997. In 1994 eruption lasted about one month. Most of the lava was coming out at night time. In November 1997 there was another eruption, but at that time mainly black sand and smoke. |

This old 2153 meters high mountain, on the eastern side of crater southeast of penelokan is the highest point on batur’s other crater, also the second highest mountain in Bali. The climb up and back from the trailhead take about five hours at the top is “ Puncak Tuluk Biyu Temple “, the view from the top is sensational, really spectacular view overlooking to lake batur, Mt. Rinjani in Lombok and also Agung volcano.
